Darfur Genocide

So there's been this genocide going on in Darfur for about six years now. African farmers and others in Darfur are being systematically displaced and murdered at the hands of the Janjaweed, a government-supported militia recruited from local Arab tribes. The genocide in Darfur has claimed 400,000 lives and displaced over 2,500,000 people. More than one hundred people continue to die each day; five thousand die every month. That's crazyyy. These people really don't like eachother....This whole situation reminds me of the Holocaust, how the Germans killed all those Jews for like no reason, just because they were Jews. But anyways, I think the party that is the worsts are the militants. They're the ones pretty much causing all this and doing the dirty work and such. How can they go and kill all those innocent people and feel like no remorse?

China's One Child Policy

So China’s got this One Child Policy, where they only allow families to have one kid to help control population. I understand the need to control the population, but I think it’s wrong to limit families to only one child. Families would be too small, and the one kid would probably be spoiled. I myself have 6 brothers and sisters, and I think it’d be really lonely with no siblings….But this policy could be easier on the parents; they would only have to care for one child, which would probably be cheaper and less of a hassle than dealing with multiple children. But still families would be too small; I mean no uncles, aunts, nieces, or nephews, brother/sister-in-laws, all that….it’d just be weird. I guess the policy should be continued for the population needs and such, but I just think that, if I wanted kids, having only one would suck. What if people have their first one and they just love their little bundle of joy so much that they want another one? Well according to this article, if two people in a couple both have no siblings, they’re allowed to have two kids. I think that’s good because they could let their kids see what it’s like to have a brother or sister, unlike they did. Abortion is legal in China, so that could help with the whole population situation, even though I find it somewhat wrong, but it really isn’t cool that they force abortion upon some women….Actually, I just realized that I find most forms of population control at least kind of wrong. But it is pretty necessary so I guess, if it was up to me, I’d keep it going.

My Favorite Musiccc!

I loovveeee music. My favorite music artist is Alicia Keys. She is an R&B singer, but she has a unique voice so she doesn’t sound extra generic like a lot of the new artists. I like her music a lot because I can relate to most of the songs, and she writes most of them. Alicia Keys also plays piano and drums, just like I do, so it makes her music more interesting to listen to. Her songs are about many different things, so it doesn’t get boring. I have most of her albums, and I can’t think of one song by her that I don’t like. My favorite song by her is “Troubles”…actually I can’t really decide, but I really like that one. People often tell me that I remind them of Alicia Keys because apparently I look like her…plus the drums/piano thing. I just wish I could sing like her.
A few more of my favorite artists include Lyfe Jennings, Z-Ro, Hawk, Trae, just S.U.C. in general…there’s more but I’d rather not list them all. I think my favorite genres are rap and r&b, but I’m not opposed to listening to other ones…there’s at least one song that I like in most genres.
But yeah back to the point, Alicia Keys is the bestesttt.

How I use technology

I use technology for lots of things, like communication, entertainment, and learning...but mostly entertainment.
I use computers for almost everything. I get on Myspace.com a lot to talk to people. I use other various random websites just for entertainment, like to play games. I use the computer for school sometimes, like to type essays or look up information.
I always have my cell phone with me because I text a lot. I also carry my iPod with me because I love music. I watch a lot of tv, too. I use techonology to play video games.
I get bored a lot so technology helps give me something to do.
